Ecobite

Ecobite, in Claude

Plan meals and optimise your eating directly through Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant. Here's how.

Add Ecobite to Claude (opens in a new tab)

How to connect it

Ecobite is a connector in Claude's Connectors Directory, under the name Ecobite with the Community label. Its listing is at claude.ai/directory/connectors/ecobite.

You need an Ecobite account (it's free) and a Claude account.

  1. Choose Add Ecobite to Claude above. Ecobite opens in Claude's directory: choose Connect.
  2. Claude sends you to Ecobite's own page, which says which app is asking and what it will be able to do. Log in to Ecobite if you aren't already, and choose Allow. You're taken back to Claude, connected.

Or find it yourself: in Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, choose Discover and search for Ecobite.

Claude never sees your Ecobite password: you only ever type it on ecobite.io.

If Claude says it can't find Ecobite

You add a connector yourself, in Claude's settings, and from inside a conversation Claude can't always see what's in its directory. So it may say it can't find Ecobite, or that it can't connect it for you. Ecobite is still there: add it with the steps above, then start a new chat. If it still doesn't come up, choose + in the message box, then Connectors, and turn Ecobite on.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector for the organisation first. The connector's address is https://app-backend.ecobite.io/mcp.

Things to ask

  • "Find me some popular vegetarian dinner recipes from Ecobite's creators."
  • "Plan the Chana masala for dinner on Thursday in Ecobite and add its ingredients to my shopping list."
  • "How did my nutrition go this week in Ecobite, and which nutrients am I short of?"
  • "Where does my food footprint rank among the people I follow on Ecobite this week?"
  • "Show me my saved recipes and favourites in Ecobite."
  • "What's on my Ecobite shopping list?"

Your data

Claude acts as you, and only when you ask it to. It sees the same things you see in the app and follows your privacy settings: other people's private details stay private.

Your allergies, your About you details and Suggestions from Track are health information, so Ecobite only saves them with your agreement. Claude shows you the same sentence the app does and asks you first, and Ecobite records your agreement as it does in the app.

What Claude receives from Ecobite, and your conversations with Claude, are covered by Anthropic's privacy policy. What Ecobite keeps, and why, is in ours.

Disconnecting

In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, choose Ecobite and Disconnect. Or, in Ecobite, open My Account, Settings, then Connected apps, and choose Disconnect. A connection also stops working after 90 days without use, and when you delete your Ecobite account.

Good to know

  • Claude asks before it changes anything in your account, such as planning a meal or adding to your shopping list.
  • Achievements you earn while using Claude appear the next time you open the app.
  • Deleting your account is only done in the app.
  • The ratings and footprints are Ecobite's own: see Science for how we work them out. Nutrition advice from Claude or Ecobite is general, not medical advice.
