Ecobite, in Grok
Plan meals and optimise your eating directly through Grok, xAI's AI assistant. Here's how.
Add Ecobite to Grok (opens in a new tab)How to connect it
You need an Ecobite account (it's free) and a Grok account. It works on Grok's free plan too.
- Choose Add Ecobite to Grok above. Grok's Connectors open, and Ecobite's address is copied for you.
- Choose New Connector, then Custom. Name it Ecobite, paste the address and choose Add Connector.
- Grok sends you to Ecobite's own page, which says which app is asking and what it will be able to do. Log in to Ecobite if you aren't already, and choose Allow. You're taken back to Grok, connected.
If the address didn't copy, it's https://app-backend.ecobite.io/mcp.
Grok never sees your Ecobite password: you only ever type it on ecobite.io.
Things to ask
- "Find me some popular vegetarian dinner recipes from Ecobite's creators."
- "Plan the Chana masala for dinner on Thursday in Ecobite and add its ingredients to my shopping list."
- "How did my nutrition go this week in Ecobite, and which nutrients am I short of?"
- "Where does my food footprint rank among the people I follow on Ecobite this week?"
- "Show me my saved recipes and favourites in Ecobite."
- "What's on my Ecobite shopping list?"
Your data
Grok acts as you, and only when you ask it to. It sees the same things you see in the app and follows your privacy settings: other people's private details stay private. Grok carries out what you ask straight away, without checking with you first, so say exactly what you'd like changed.
Your allergies, your About you details and Suggestions from Track are health information, so Ecobite only saves them with your agreement: it has Grok show you the same sentence the app does and ask you first, and records your agreement as it does in the app.
What Grok receives from Ecobite, and your conversations with Grok, are covered by xAI's privacy policy. What Ecobite keeps, and why, is in ours.
Disconnecting
On grok.com, open Connectors, choose Ecobite and Disconnect. A connection also stops working after 90 days without use, and when you delete your Ecobite account.
Good to know
- Grok's free plan can be slow when it's busy: an answer that uses Ecobite may take a minute.
- Achievements you earn while using Grok appear the next time you open the app.
- Deleting your account is only done in the app.
- The ratings and footprints are Ecobite's own: see Science for how we work them out. Nutrition advice from Grok or Ecobite is general, not medical advice.
